Make local knowledge a livelihood
Cooks, farmers and makers already have something worth sharing. Visatile gives them a way to offer it to guests, so an experience can support the person and place behind it.
A Cr4fts company
Help African hosts earn more from the experiences only they can offer.

A great experience starts with a person who has something to share. For the cooks, farmers and makers hosting guests across East Africa, it can also become a way to earn a living.
Visatile helps residents and travellers find and book those experiences. At Quasar’s Kitchen in Mombasa, for example, guests explore Swahili heritage through cooking and a shared tasting. A published 10 per cent booking fee and weekly host payments are designed to leave more of that value with the people doing the hosting.
Tourism can create a livelihood without its value staying in the community. UNCTAD’s 2017 report estimated that 40–50 per cent of gross tourism earnings in developing countries leave through imports and payments abroad. For an independent host, the share kept by a booking platform is another cost between a guest’s spending and a day’s income.
Modelled $100 booking and $40 delivery costs: $50 retained with Visatile’s 10% fee versus $28 with 30% commission plus an optional 2-point payout surcharge. Before other taxes, bank or FX charges. Actual costs and rates vary.
Visatile helps African hosts reach residents and travellers on better terms. A published 10 per cent booking fee and weekly payments leave more room for the host’s costs and income. The aim is a livelihood that grows with the value of the experience, and more of what guests spend staying with the people and places they visit.
Build a business around what you know, where you live and the people you welcome.

A lower booking fee leaves more room for the host’s own costs and income. Visatile charges 10 per cent and pays hosts weekly, helping them plan around the work they do.
Guests discover a place through the people who live there. Hosts build relationships and repeat business around their own culture, skills and stories.
